PACK A STUDENT ROOM
Start with anything you won’t need this week: books, seasonal clothes, spare bedding and decor. Use smaller boxes for heavy books, and keep liquids upright in sealed bags. Label each box with its destination room.
STUDENT MOVING TIPS
Short, useful advice for packing up, handing back keys and starting somewhere new.
Start with anything you won’t need this week: books, seasonal clothes, spare bedding and decor. Use smaller boxes for heavy books, and keep liquids upright in sealed bags. Label each box with its destination room.
Keep your ID, keys, charger, medication, toiletries, a change of clothes and anything essential with you. You don’t want to unpack six boxes just to find a toothbrush.
Check whether your new building uses timed move-in slots, which floor you’re on and whether lifts are bookable. Ask where the van can safely stop. These details are important for an accurate quote.
Pack everything before the driver arrives, make a clear path out of your room, and have suitable help ready for carrying items if your package requires it. The hour includes loading, travel and unloading.
Check the inventory, photograph each room when empty, take meter readings where needed and return your keys as your accommodation provider instructs. Remember to update your address.
